Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman. The Corcoran Group was a New York City real estate brokerage she established. NRT purchased it for $66 million in 2001. Corcoran later left the company. One of the original "Shark" investors, Corcoran has appeared in the entire 12 seasons of ABC's Shark Tank until today. Corcoran has been involved in 53 deals as of February of 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 purchase to provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second of ten children from a working-class Irish Catholic family. Florence Corcoran's mother was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's childhood. The family relied on food delivered by a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran remembers her father as one who often was a drinker and was rude to her mother and condescension, particularly when he was drinking. Corcoran was a struggling student in school. She later discovered that she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated at an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran was fluent in several classes during her first year. She was transferred to Leonia High School and graduated with a grade of D.
